How to Deliver Photos That Wow Your Clients
How to Deliver Photos That Wow Your Clients
You've planned the shoot perfectly, the lighting was gorgeous, and your edits are flawless. You export the JPEGs... now what?
How you deliver those final images is the last impression you leave with a client. If you just send a messy Dropbox link with a one-line email, you are cheapening your own hard work.
Here is how to elevate your final delivery.
1. Use a Professional Gallery Platform
This is non-negotiable. Platforms like PilahFoto, Pic-Time, or Pixieset provide a stunning, branded viewing experience. The photos are presented beautifully, and clients can easily view, download, or mark their favorites. It looks like a premium product, not just a data transfer.
2. The "Sneak Peek"
Don't make them wait weeks without hearing from you! Within 24-48 hours of the shoot, send them 2 or 3 fully edited "sneak peek" photos. This builds excitement, reassures them the photos look great, and gives them something to immediately post on social media (while tagging you, of course!).
3. Write a Thoughtful Delivery Email
When the full gallery is ready, don't just say "Here is the link." Write a warm, personalized email.
- Remind them of a fun moment from the shoot.
- Tell them how much you love a specific photo.
- Clearly explain how to download the files and what the PIN number is.
4. Under-Promise, Over-Deliver
If your contract says 3 weeks for delivery, send it in 2 weeks. If you promised 50 photos, deliver 65. These small surprises make clients feel like they are getting incredible value, which leads directly to referrals.
5. Ask for the Review
Once they reply saying how much they love the photos, send a polite follow-up asking if they would mind leaving a quick Google review. This is the optimal time to ask, while they are at peak excitement!
